Cantons: Understand cannabis analysis in your region.
Cantons: Distinguish official responsibilities, local research and analytical questions. No laboratory locations are claimed.
This is an information guide. It does not claim a CannabisLabor.ch location, partnership or private sample acceptance. Official food control and a private cannabis test are different activities.

Aargau
Aargau describes risk-based samples from sales and production and chemical and microbiological examinations. Product labelling is also checked. Selecting an official sample therefore serves a different purpose from a privately planned batch comparison.
Learn moreAR / CantonAppenzell Ausserrhoden
Appenzell Ausserrhoden names the food inspectorate for both Appenzell cantons in Herisau as the first local enforcement contact. More complex examinations can use the shared laboratory in Schaffhausen. The local inspectorate and analytical laboratory are therefore different locations.
Learn moreAI / CantonAppenzell Innerrhoden
Appenzell Innerrhoden is one of the Intercantonal Laboratory's three partner cantons alongside Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Schaffhausen. Its food-law remit also includes consumer products. The joint authority is not a confirmed private testing provider for every cannabis product.
Learn moreBL / CantonBasel-Landschaft
Basel-Landschaft has its own Food Safety and Veterinary Office and cantonal laboratory. The laboratory supports food and environmental enforcement analytically. Liestal and Allschwil must therefore be distinguished administratively from Basel-Stadt; neither authority is presented as a CannabisLabor.ch partner.
Learn moreBS / CantonBasel-Stadt
Basel-Stadt lists two analytical laboratory divisions and separate food and chemical/biosafety inspection units. Its remit concerns Basel-Stadt canton. A Basel research project or official laboratory does not replace method checks or confirmation of private sample acceptance.
Learn moreBE / CantonBern
Bern's laboratory lists inspections, market surveillance and laboratory examinations among its tools. Its remit includes food, consumer products and environmental safety. An official assessment must be distinguished from a privately commissioned batch analysis.
Learn moreFR / CantonFribourg
Fribourg's SAAV distinguishes chemistry, food-biology and veterinary-biology laboratories. Apart from drinking-water analyses, it generally does not test for individuals or businesses. Its official laboratory description must therefore not be read as acceptance of private cannabis testing.
Learn moreGE / CantonGeneva
Geneva's SCAV is the cantonal control authority for food, consumer products and veterinary matters. Its topics also include cosmetics and tobacco products. This cantonal role differs from cannabis research documented in Vernier and from privately commissioned testing.
Learn moreGL / CantonGlarus
A Glarus notice dated 20 January 2026 documents joint ALT controls for Glarus and Graubünden. It provides a concrete source for current collaboration. Its catering samples establish nothing about cannabis batches or private sample acceptance.
Learn moreGR / CantonGraubünden
Graubünden's ALT describes risk-based inspections and consumer-product analyses as official controls. Its scope includes items such as cosmetics. Hemp products should therefore first be described by their intended use, rather than only their plant origin.
Learn moreJU / CantonJura
Jura's SCAV separates consumption and veterinary sections. Consumer protection covers food and consumer products, with its published office in Delémont. A cantonal control responsibility does not establish a commercial cannabis-testing service.
Learn moreLU / CantonLucerne
Lucerne has its own Food Control and Consumer Protection service. It treats food, consumer products, chemicals and tobacco products as separate topics. Being in Central Switzerland does not place Lucerne under the Laboratory of the Original Cantons.
Learn moreNE / CantonNeuchâtel
Neuchâtel's SCAV describes samples originating mainly from cantonal, intercantonal or national official controls. Its page requests prior contact for other analytical questions. An appointment or desired parameter is not yet a confirmed cannabis examination.
Learn moreNW / CantonNidwalden
Nidwalden's concordat distinguishes the laboratory's core duties from possible related commercial services. Such services must not impair its main responsibilities. This general possibility does not establish currently available cannabis testing.
Learn moreOW / CantonObwalden
Obwalden shares the Laboratory of the Original Cantons with Uri, Schwyz and Nidwalden. Official analytical responsibilities therefore extend across cantonal boundaries. Private testing still requires separate confirmation of acceptance conditions and suitable methods.
Learn moreSH / CantonSchaffhausen
The Intercantonal Laboratory is based in Schaffhausen and handles food and chemicals duties for three partner cantons. It additionally lists environmental duties for Schaffhausen. Its location alone does not mean private cannabis samples are accepted.
Learn moreSZ / CantonSchwyz
Schwyz describes the Laboratory of the Original Cantons as a public-law body shared by four cantons. Its listed tasks include food, water and environmental analysis. This describes official responsibilities, not acceptance of private cannabis samples.
Learn moreSO / CantonSolothurn
Solothurn describes site inspections and examinations in two laboratories as parts of its food-control work. Its page also provides a document on conformity assessment considering measurement uncertainty. This helps distinguish an official decision from a measurement alone.
Learn moreSG / CantonSt. Gallen
St.Gallen's AVSV examines drinking water, food and consumer products for microbiological, chemical or sensory quality. Cantonal responsibility differs from the individual municipalities covered by a cannabis pilot trial. A study name does not establish a region-wide laboratory service.
Learn moreTG / CantonThurgau
Thurgau identifies official food examinations as its central task. Its page allows company or individual requests only exceptionally and after consultation. Sampling and the analytical question therefore need prior clarification; cannabis testing is not promised.
Learn moreTI / CantonTicino
Ticino's Laboratorio cantonale identifies health protection and prevention of deception in food and consumer products as its main tasks. Its remit also includes bathing-water hygiene. These official duties do not establish private cannabis sample acceptance in Lugano or Bellinzona.
Learn moreUR / CantonUri
Uri refers to the Laboratory of the Original Cantons as its joint institution. It serves Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden and Nidwalden. A shared official laboratory is neither a CannabisLabor.ch sample collection point nor a confirmed cannabis service.
Learn moreVS / CantonValais
Valais's SCAV states in its FAQ that it does not handle private testing requests outside drinking and shower water. For other analyses it refers to private laboratory directories. The cantonal laboratory's existence is therefore not a cannabis sample-shipping recommendation.
Learn moreVD / CantonVaud
Vaud's OFCO brings together food inspection, cantonal weights and measures and the cantonal chemist's laboratories. Its listed food and water services are in Epalinges. Cantonal responsibility must be distinguished from a research project limited to Lausanne.
Learn moreZG / CantonZug
Zug's AVS laboratory offers examinations for third parties only where technical, time and staffing capacity permit. Its examples include food, consumer products and water samples. This does not establish general acceptance of private cannabis products.
Learn moreZH / CantonZurich
Zurich's cantonal laboratory combines business inspections with food and consumer-product examinations; its remit also includes tobacco products. Establish the product category before asking about responsibility. This official role does not establish a private cannabis-testing offer.
