More than a single THC or CBD value.
Distinguish THC, THCA, CBD and CBDA and read a cannabinoid profile with its method, units and quantification limits.
Which cannabinoids could be included?
A potential panel covers THC, THCA, CBD, CBDA, CBG, CBGA, CBN, CBC, THCV and CBDV. The designated laboratory must confirm which individual compounds can be determined in the specific product matrix.
Distinguish acidic and neutral forms
THCA and THC, or CBDA and CBD, are different analytes. A calculated total must be distinguished from a directly measured individual result. Comparisons require disclosure of the calculation, reference basis and method.
Read units and limits too
Percentages and mg/g are comparable only on the same basis. A result below the quantification limit is not a confirmed zero. Ask for the limit for each relevant analyte and whether values refer to the original sample or dry matter.
What the profile does not answer
A cannabinoid profile alone proves neither absence of contaminants, safety, legal compliance nor suitability for consumption. It applies to the tested sample and the reported parameters.
