Cannabis testing in Zurich: understand Züri Can and your own report
Zurich brings scientific evaluation and product analysis into close view. UZH documents different distribution models; a private report instead needs to identify a particular sample and batch.
Regional context: Zurich
UZH describes Züri Can as scientific research and, in its 8 October 2026 update, reports an approved extension to October 2028. This is research context, not evidence of a publicly accessible testing laboratory or open recruitment.

Kantonales Labor Zürich
Zurich's cantonal laboratory combines business inspections with food and consumer-product examinations; its remit also includes tobacco products. Establish the product category before asking about responsibility. This official role does not establish a private cannabis-testing offer.

Practical example · fictional
A Zurich reader compares study information with a flower report. She separates distribution-model findings from chemical results. For the flower she checks THC, THCA, total calculation and sample identity; the study model says nothing about her own sample.
Your next steps
- Read the study protocol separately from the product report
- Identify the batch behind the percentage
- Define any required contaminant evidence as a separate scope
Can the Züri Can research team test my own flower?
The UZH page describes the study and its evaluations. It does not establish a public submission service for personal flower samples. Private testing requires explicit agreement with the performing laboratory.
Questions to clarify locally
A cannabinoid profile alone establishes neither safety, absence of contaminants nor legal compliance.
